Heavy rain swept from
the West right across the catchment this afternoon & we had 10mm fell here
at the Lodge. This was the picture @ 18.00.

By 21.00 the back of the rain belt had cleared the catchment, but there is another band of rain
due early in the morning, followed by yet more rain on Wednesday & Thursday evenings.

This afternoon's rain has already brought the upper river at Millstreet up a metre by 21.00.
The river at Ballyduff is just starting to rise again at 21.00 this evening.
Hello Ian,
ReplyDeleteI just came on your blog, and very nice it is too. Your graphs showing rainfall and river height are very good. It looks like the best enjoyment from salmon fishing for the next few days will be provided by a couple of glasses of whiskey, feet up to the fire and reliving some past piscatorial exploits in our memories. I will keep an eye on your blog now that I have found it.

Thanks Tony. I put in a lot of work to keep everybody informed on how conditions are - all to no avail at the moment as you're right - the whiskey/slippers/fire approach sounds the best to me too..............
ReplyDeleteI had a look at your blog & you obviously put a lot of effort into that too - I was very impressed. Some lovely pics.
Interesting what you said about fallen trees as raw materiel too. You're right. What a waste!
Best regards
Ian
