Second Best Day of the Season & a Flood on the way......



The radar picture above is the rainfall situation at 20.00.
Rain has been falling in the catchment since early morning.
I have 30mm on my gauge at 23.30.
Looks as if we could be in for a fair flood..............................................!

There were already reports of fish moving in Fermoy & Killavullen yesterday evening & early this morning.
There were six fish caught today. The first was mentioned in my last post & is pictured below.






Our son Ian Powell Jnr (9 years old) caught the second fish - 7.5lb. - on worms on Lower Kilmurry.
Conor Arnold fished our top but one beat in the evening & caught 4 fish to 7lb. Two on spinner & one each on prawn & fly. All but one released. He had 3 fish in just 15 minutes.
By 21.00 there's another 10mm on the rain gauge & it's starting to rise up river.
