A 20cm rise on the upper river after heavy showers on Tuesday...........




Current Situation & Prospects: Thursday, August 14 @ 09.00

Weather: 

Heavier showers on the 12th. & continuing overcast with odd light showers.
River Height:    

Millstreet:  Up 20cm peaking @ to 0.64m @ 13.30 yesterday
                   & now down to 0.56 @ 07.45 today (14th.)


Killavullen:  Up 12cm peaking @ 1.18 @ 05.15 today (14th.) & just starting to drop.


  Ballyduff:   Up 4cm to 1.19m @ 05.45 today (14th) & holding

Colour/Clarity:  

It was about 4 feet on the lower & upper river yesterday.
 
Temperatures:  

Water @    Ballyduff:    13.4ºC    56.1ºF.
 Water @ Killavullen:    14.9 -  16.3
ºC.
     Air @    Ballyduff:     18ºC  @ 11.00  today.

Run of Fish: 

Not many seen but a number caught on some of the other beats.
                        
Catches:  

We didn't land a fish yesterday but I heard of half a dozen fresh grilse caught - four opposite one of our beats & two lower down the river.

Methods:   

OK for all mthods at the moment - albeit at a low level.

Prospects: 
Hopefully the rise in water coming this time from the top of the river combined with the high tides will encourage more fish to move up from the tidal waters & even head for the upper beats.

OK for fishing & accommodation for the coming weeks.
