The river is in absolutely cracking fly order……..

Conditions.
It’s a bright sunny day here today with a fair amount of high cloud. There was frost in the early morning. There is no more rain forecast for the next 8 days with high pressure building again from mid-week on. Air temperature is 15ºC at 13.30 today.

The upper river is falling slowly & steadily & the Killavullen gauge is at 1.32m at 13.00 this morning. Clarity on the upper river is 5-6 feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff is also falling slowly & is at 0.43m at 13.00. Clarity is about 5 feet.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 9.1ºC / 48.4ºF @ 13.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen:   12.1 – 10.8ºC / 53.8 – 51.4ºF.
Water temperature at Killavullen:  9.1 – 10.1 ºC / 48.4 – 50.2ºF @ 18.00.

Prospects.
Conditions are absolutely perfect for fly on both the lower & upper river today.

Catches.
Just one fish for us in the last week with few anglers fishing. There must be a few fish moving as I heard reports from other beats of two caught on spinner last Saturday evening opposite Upper Kilmurry & a bar of silver well in excess of 20lb. lost at the net on fly down at Lismore.
