The river is coming into cracking order & should be so for the next week at least!

Conditions.
It was a mostly dry but very windy day. The forecast from tomorrow on with just occasional showers for tomorrow & Thursday. High pressure is building from Friday right up to the middle of next week with calm conditions & little wind.
Air temperature was +10 ºC at 18.00.

The upper river at Millstreet rose just 1cm in the early evening due to showers in the upper catchment.

The latest reading for the level of the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) was at 15.30 due to phone connection problems. At that stage is was down to 1.55m. & falling. This is fair fly height for the upper river . Clarity was 2½ feet this evening.

The lower river at Ballyduff was down to 1.65m at 21.15 & falling. This means that it will be at good fly height tomorrow. Clarity was about 3 feet this evening.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.7ºC / 47.6ºF @ 21.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen:  7.6 - 8.0 ºC / 45.7 - 46.4ºF @ 21.00.

Tides will be peaking at 3.8m at Youghal from Saturday to Monday this coming weekend.

Prospects.
Excellent right through the coming weekend and into next week as there is now very little rain due and the winds will drop. The upper river was fly fishable today & the lower river will be in fly order tomorrow. The clarity is improving quickly.
