Run of Fish:  The first fish of the season off the river was reported on the 19th. on Killavullen club waters. On the 20th. one of our rods lost a sea-liced fish of  8-10lb at the bank - he had forgotten his net! There was also a report of a  sea-liced fish from another lower beat the same day.  As the river came into good order it was evident that there was a good  head of springers in the river judging by the number of fish caught/lost  relative to the (low) angling effort.
As we are in the second week of March, there seem to be few fish running
& I am not hearing reports of any fish being caught at the moment.
Catches:  First Fish of the Season Friday 22nd. on Upper Kilmurry.
A sea-liced fish lost on the 20th. at the bank too.
Methods:  Good spinning order now. Another day or two to be in fly order on the lower river.
Prospects:  Improving as the latest flood fines off.
