Forecast is now for a likelihood of some persistent rain tomorrow night!

The cherry trees on the Lodge drive are blossoming.
Hopefully they won’t be knocked off by the hail showers!

Conditions.
The weather was very changeable today – sometimes sunny,
sometimes showers & hail! 2mm rain fell in total.
Staying very cool with winds from the North.
The heavy rain on Wednesday has disappeared from the forecast,
but there may be quite persistent rain tomorrow night.

The upper river is up a centimeter or so at Millstreet,
but still falling at Killavullen where the gauge is at 1.20m this evening. Clarity on the upper river is 5-6 feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff is also falling only very slowly & is at 0.31m at 20.00. Clarity is about 5-6 feet.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 9.3ºC / 49.0ºF @ 20.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen:  10.1 – 11.0 ºC / 50.2 – 51.8ºF.

Prospects.
Conditions are still perfect for fly on both the lower & upper river.
Challenging fishing for now, but hopefully there will be enough rain to give a reasonable rise in the river to start the run of the Blackwater’s double-figure May fish.
