The river is coming into cracking order & should be so for the next week at least!



 
Conditions.

It was a dry day here today. The forecast from tomorrow on is for high pressure building from Friday right up to the end of next week with calm conditions & little wind.
Air temperature was +10 ºC at 18.00.


The upper river at Millstreet has been holding steady since 13.00 today.

The latest reading for the level of the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) was at 16.00 yesterday due to phone connection problems. At that stage is was down to 1.55m. & falling. This is fair fly height for the upper river . Clarity was 3-4 feet this evening.
 The Fermoy gauge rose 2cm in the morning but was back down 2cm by evening.


The lower river at Ballyduff has risen 2 cm from early morning to late afternoon, but is now dropping once more & was at 0.65m at 21.00. Clarity was about 3-4 feet this evening.

Water temperature at   Ballyduff: 8.9ºC / 48.0ºF @ 21.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen:  7.6 - 8.0 ºC / 45.7 - 46.4ºF @ 21.00.

Tides will be peaking at 3.8m at Youghal from Saturday to Monday this coming weekend.


Prospects.
Excellent right through the coming weekend and into next week as there is now very little rain due and the winds will drop. The upper & lower river are fly fishable today The clarity is improving quickly.
