Upper river rising rapidly ..... ?? !

Conditions.
Dry overnight. The forecast for the coming week is dry.

The upper river at Millstreet was rising very slowly (up 8cm) until 05.30 this morning & has since shot up 10cm in an hour! This is strange as there doesn't appear to have been rain in that area overnight?

Killavullen crept up slowly & has plateaued at.20m this morning.

At Ballyduff, the river is still rising slowly & is at 0.32m this morning.
The clarity is excellent throughout the upper & lower river.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 12.3ºC / 54.1ºF.

Catches.

Four grilse caught all on fly today on the lower river including a sea-liced 5 pounder. 100 fish caught so far for July for 187 rod days.
This is only the fourth time in th last 10 years that the 100 fish mark for July has been achieved.  220 for the season to date.

Prospects.
Should be good in the coming days with a small fresh on the river.

Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
