Run of Fish:

Sporadic but sometimes good runs of fish going right through
                   to our upper beats.

Catches:

Best March since 2006 with nine fish to 12lb. caught.
April 14:  Best Day of Season so far.
4 fish to 14lb. caught - 3 on fly.
Four in the 3 days from April 20-22- 3 on fly. A very large fish (25-30lb) lost after an hour on the Island Stream on Lower Kilmurry on the 22nd. A 10lb. released on the 30th.
Two very fresh fish released on fly on the upper river on May 1st.
Last weekend (May 3/4) - plenty of fish seen but not taking!

Methods:

It was difficult for fly today with quite high water & strong winds. OK for spin/worm.

It should be into fly order for tomorrow.

Prospects:

Should be very good as this latest flood fines off by tomorrow.  The last fresh did get the large May fish running right through to the upper beats.
A full moon & high tides into the coming weekend (3.8m for Thursday, Friday & Saturday) will also help to bring fish into the main river.
