A 1 metre flood on the upper river starts to fall…………………

Conditions.
There was heavy rain & strong winds across the catchment today. I recorded 10mm rain here & there was 18mm in Mallow. The  forecast is for mainly dry weather for the rest of this week & high pressure building with dry weather from the weekend well into next week. The air temperature this morning is up to 15 ºC  at 08.00.

The upper river at Millstreet peaked  at 11pm last night 22.00 – up a metre on yesterday morning. It has already fallen 40cm by 06.15 this morning.

The upper river at Killavullen is almost peaking at 2.23m at 06.30 today –up 0.90cm on midday yesterday. Clarity at Mallow is less than a foot at 06.30 today

The lower river at Ballyduff is up slightly to 0.53m at 06.30 but will rise during the day. Clarity this morning is ~1½ feet but will probably degrade during the day.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.3ºC / 51.0ºF & steady.

Prospects.
The upper river is out of order. The lower river would be fishable at the moment but will probably be out of order as the day progresses. Once it does start to fine off the fishing should be superb based on yesterday’s results.
