Conditions.
Dry overnight & a warm
overcast day today with no wind. Some light rain forecast for Thursday evening
& the weekend with heavier rain to follow on Monday.
The upper river at Millstreet rose 3cm peaking at 17.00. It is back down 2cm this morning. Killavullen is also up 2cm to 1.19m yesterday evening & is holding at that level. Clarity on the upper river is 6-7 feet.
The lower river at Ballyduff is steady at 0.28m this evening. Clarity is about 6-7 feet. Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.8ºC / 51.4ºF & steady.
Catches.
The final tally for yesterday (Monday, June 22) was six fish to 9lb., five of which were released. This made it the Third Best Day of 2015. Two grilse were caught on trout flies on the lower river at 22.30 last night & only reported this morning.
We now have 47 fish
for the month to date, & 79 for the season so far.
Prospects.
Excellent for the
coming days as the run of fish coming through the lower river is building up.
The small fresh on the upper river may also liven up the fish on the upper
beats.
