The rain is just starting at 11.00 but a fish on fly already!

Conditions.
At 11.00 the rain is just starting & winds are increasing after a calm morning. The  forecast is for 15-20mm rain today. Temperatures – which have been unseasonally low in recent day – are due to get warmer from mid-week.

The upper river at Millstreet is falling steadily this morning as is Killavullen where the gauge is at 1.36m at 11.00 today.

The lower river at Ballyduff rose & peaked at 0.50m at 08.00 then fell to 0.46m at 16.00 & has risen again this evening to 0.47m at 20.30 with good clarity.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.3ºC / 51.0ºF & steady.

Prospects.
The river is in excellent condition in the morning. We will have to see how much rain falls this afternoon & its effect on the river.

Catches.

A bar of silver of about 8lb. on fly from the lower river  already reported by Vaidas Tiskus.
