Grilse run building up significantly…..

Conditions.
4mm overnight here & only 3mm in Mallow. A warm bright day today with little wind. Heavy rain forecast for Saturday night.
The upper river at Millstreet rose just 2cm after the overnight rain & is back down 1cm. Killavullen is steady at 1.17. Clarity on the upper river is 6-7 feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff is at 0.27m this evening. Clarity is about 6-7 feet.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 11.0ºC / 51.8ºF.

Catches.

There were reports of very good runs of grilse through the tidal limit at Lismore yesterday evening & this morning. Two rods fished the afternoon/evening on one of lower beats & landed 5 sea-liced grilse. Another very fresh grilse was caught on one of our upper beats.
We now have 57 fish for the month to date for just 149 rod days, & 89 for the season so far. This makes it the fourth best June total since 2005 already.

Prospects.
Excellent for the coming days as more fish are running. It’ll be even better if the forecast rain comes as we would then have a flood combining with high tides late next week.

Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
