Grilse run still building & hopefully rain on the way …..

Gary McCarthy's first sea-liced grilse of yesterday evening.

The same fish being safely released.

Conditions.
Dry & warm overnight here. Some quite heavy rain forecast for tonight.

The upper river at Millstreet has dropped 2cm since midday yesterday. Killavullen is back down 1cm this morning. Clarity on the upper river is 6-7 feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff is holding at 0.27m this evening. Clarity is about 6-7 feet.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 11.0ºC / 51.8ºF & holding.

Catches.

I heard of one angler on a private lower beat who also landed 4 grilse yesterday.
Already by 10.00 this morning we have 2 gleaming grilse for one rod around Castletownroche. I also know of 3 to one rod in 2 hours this morning an private water around Killavullen.
We now have 59 fish for the month to date & 91 for the season so far.

Prospects.
Excellent for the coming days as more fish are running. It’ll be even better if the forecast rain comes as we would then have a flood combining with high tides late next week.
Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
