6mm rain yesterday & an 11cm rise on the upper river.……

Conditions.
Damp day but not heavy rain – I had 6mm on my gauge here. It now looks as if tomorrow will give some light rain. The heavy band will probably miss the catchment.

The upper river at Millstreet peaked up 11cm at 06.00 this morning.

Killavullen is up 7cm since yesterday morning to 1.23m this morning. Clarity is 3 feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff is up 7cm since yesterday morning to 0.32m this morning.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 11.9ºC / 53.4ºF.

Catches.

Fallen off over the last 4 days – just one on the fly from the upper river yesterday, but fishing effort is very light.
60 caught so far for July for just 104 rod days, which is the best July total since 2012.  180 for the season so far.

Prospects.
Very good for the coming days & especially into the weekend with the small rise which has come onto the river. It will be even better if we get rain on Thursday.

Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
