Finally, not much rain fell in the catchment last night………..

On Thursday, July 23rd. Gavin Wishart (N. Ireland) released
a superb fresh fish of 12lb. at the Lug Pool on Lower Kilmurry.

Conditions.
The Met Eireann 5 Day forecast had plenty of rain coming in last night, but not much seemed to have fallen in the catchment. I had 10mm here. The forecast for the coming week is dry.

The upper river at Millstreet is up just 3cm at midday & looks to be peaking.

Killavullen is up just 2cm to 1.15 by midday & looks to have peaked too. Clarity at least 4 feet.

At Ballyduff, the river is also up just 2cm, peaking at 0.28m at midday. Clarity is at least 4 feet.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 12.3ºC / 54.1ºF.

Catches.

Two very fresh grilse caught on Friday for just 5 rod days.
Four caught yesterday for just 8 rod days – all from the upper river.
We haven’t had a blank day yet in July!
96 caught so far for July for 176 rod days. 216 for the season to date.
Very fresh grilse continue to run right through to Mallow, but no so many fish showing in the last couple of days.

Prospects.
Should be good in the coming days with a small fresh on the river.

Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
