Upper river peaked this morning (Monday) up 20cm .....

Conditions.
It was dry for the last 24 hours here. There was obviously rain in the upper catchment. The forecast for the coming week is dry.

The upper river at Millstreet was rising very slowly (up 8cm) until 05.30 this morning (Monday) & then rose quickly peaking at 08.00 up 20cm in total. By midnight it has fallen back down 10cm.

Killavullen it is up 13cm – peaking just before midnight at 1.25m.

At Ballyduff, the river rose 9cm peaking at 0.35m at 20.00.

The clarity is excellent throughout the upper & lower river.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 12.3ºC / 54.1ºF.

Catches.

Three very fresh grilse were caught today on the lower river including this  First Ever Salmon for John Last (UK) on the fly.

103 fish caught so far for July for 192 rod days. 223 for the season to date.
Prospects.
Should be good in the coming days with a small fresh on the river.
I heard of a couple of larger fish caught on other beats, including one fish of ~15lb.

Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
