Second Best Day of the Season as the river fines off nicely.....

Conditions.
Showers during the day & 2mm rain fell here.
The forecast for the week is dry.

The upper river at Millstreet has been falling slowly all day.

Killavullen is up & down & is at 1.24m at 20.00. Clarity is about 3 feet.

At Ballyduff, the river peaked at 0.36m at midday & is just starting to drop. Clarity is about 3 feet.

 Water temperature at Ballyduff: 12.4ºC / 54.3ºF.

Catches.

It was the Second Best Day of the Season as the river fined off nicely during the day. Ten grilse were caught today including one sea-liced one on the lower river  & eight very fresh ones on the upper river. All but two fell to fly. Johnnie Murphy & Fergus Glynn had a great day landing four – one from Kilmurry & three from Ballyhooly.
113 fish caught so far for July for just 201 rod days – a superb average of 0.6 fish/rod day. 233 for the season to date.

Prospects.
The river is in excellent fly order. Should be good sport in the coming days with the latest small fresh on the river. There are reports of some double figure fish caught on the lower river.

Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
