Moderate rise – higher & dirty on the lower river……

Conditions.
10mm rain here during the day. Mostly here & not in the upper catchment. Perhaps a few showers tomorrow morning then dry for the week.

The upper river at Millstreet peaked at 18.00 up 14cm.

At Killavullen it is up 16cm by 21.30 & still rising. Clarity quite good..

The lower river at Ballyduff peaked at 0.57m at 19.00 & is down to 0.53m at 21.30.
Clarity poor.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 11.5ºC / 52.7ºF.

Catches.

One 12lb fish released on fly from Kilmurry. Quite fresh – it’s probably one that was waiting in the tidal water for a rise in level to move into the main river. Two grilse from the upper river in the evening.
16 so far for July & 136 for the season.

Prospects.
Superb for the coming days as larger fish look to be starting to run with the rise in water.

Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
