River fining down & little rain for today…………..

Conditions.
It looks as if the band of heavy rain will probably miss the catchment.

The upper river at Millstreet is falling steadily after peaking at 06.00 yesterday.

Killavullen peaked at 17.00 yesterday at 1.24m - up 8cm. It’s back down to 1.19m this morning. Clarity is 3-4 feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff peaked during the night at 0.33m - up 7cm.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 11.9ºC / 53.4ºF.

Catches.

Three very fresh grilse caught yesterday on the upper river.
63 caught so far for July for just 114 rod days, which is the best July total since 2012.  183 for the season so far.

Prospects.
Quite good in the coming days as there is a good run of grilse coming up.

Availability.
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
