Catches.
After the great day on Tuesday which was the Second Best Day of the Season with ten grilse caught we then recorded the only blank day of July. There were only 4 rod days yesterday & conditions were very difficult with a biting North wind.
Today with just 6 rods out, we already have 6 fish reported by 14.00 – 5 from the upper river. One beat already reports 3 on the fly without having seen a single fish show!
119 fish caught so far for July for just 211 rod days – a superb average of 0.6 fish/rod day. 239 for the season to date.
Prospects.
The river is in
excellent fly order. Fishing should be good sport in the coming days with the
latest small fresh on the river. There are reports of some double figure fish
caught on the lower river.
Hight tides will be peaking at 4.0m this coming weekend from Saturday to Monday which should help to bring fish into the main river.
Availability.
