A small rise but good clarity is maintained.……………………

Conditions.

Last night’s rain seems to have been heavier in the upper catchment. I only had 2mm on my gauge here at the Lodge.
There is some more rain forecast for tomorrow.

The upper river at Millstreet (80km upstream of the Lodge)
peaked at 10.15 today - up 34cm – and is now falling once more.

This was the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) rose 23cm – peaking at 18.15 this evening. Despite the rise the clarity remained good at ~3 feet.

This was the lower river at 21.15 this evening – gauge at 0.91m – up 10 cm but clarity good at about 2½-3 feet.

Photo of river below the Lodge at 12.00. Gauge at 0.81m just before it started to rise.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.5ºC / 47.4ºF @ 21.00.

Water temperature at Killavullen: 8.9ºC / 47.4ºF @ 21.00.

Prospects.
The river was in excellent spinnable order today & we were lucky that the clarity remained good all day. It will be out of fly order once more for tomorrow, but conditions for spinning are first rate. High (3.8m) tides continue until tomorrow which may help to move fish in.
