Quite a big flood on the way!

Conditions.

It was a wild mild wet day here again today.  Air temperature +10ºC at 17.30.
The rain is now gone from the catchment.
The forecast is for high pressure building over Ireland. It should be dry
from this evening right through until Thursday next week.

The upper river at Millstreet (80km upstream of the Lodge)
has peaked at 18.00 this evening – up 88cm since 04.15 this morning.

The middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge)
is still rising at 19.15 – up 1.06m since 06.00 this morning.

The lower river at Ballyduff is at 1.75m and still rising at 19.45 – up over
50cm since 09.00 this morning. Clarity was a foot at best this morning.

Water temperature at   Ballyduff: 8.4ºC / 47.2ºF @ 10.00.

Water temperature at Killavullen: 7.7ºC / 45.8ºF @ 10.00.

Prospects.
The river will be out of order for all but high water spinning tomorrow if the clarity is good enough. It will be out of order for the fly over the weekend.
With the dry weather coming, the river should improve
and next week looks very promising!
