River in absolutely Superb Condition & dry forecast for a week!



                           Idyllic conditions below the Lodge today.
             Gauge height:  0.65m at 11.15
with air temperature
13ºC

Conditions.

It’s a beautiful bright sunny calm day here today  Air temperature +10ºC at 12.00.
The forecast continues to be for high pressure over Ireland. It should be dry from this evening right through until Thursday/Friday  of next week with some cool nights.

 
The middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) is also dropping slowly but steadily. It is down to 1.47m at 11.15 this morning.
Clarity is about 5-6 feet.


The lower river at Ballyduff is falling slowly & is down to 0.65m at 11.15 this morning. Clarity is ~5-6 feet.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.5ºC / 47.4ºF @ 11.15.

Water temperature at Killavullen:  8.2 – 7.7ºC / 46.8 – 45.9ºF @ 11.15.

High Tides
We have spring tides which will peak today & tomorrow at 4.1m in Youghal.


Prospects.
The river is in excellent order for both fly & spinning throughout today.
With the dry weather continuing, the river will continue to improve steadily, and the next few days look very promising indeed!
The river is settling down and fish are starting to come on the take.
There were not many fish moving last week, but there are more running through this week.
