Friday the 13th. brings us the biggest flood since mid-January!



      The river below the Lodge at 08.15 today 13th. Gauge height:  2.18m
Conditions.

It’s a beautiful bright & frosty morning here today.  Air temperature -1ºC at 07.30.
The forecast is for high pressure building over Ireland. It should be dry from this evening right through until the end of next week at least.

 

The upper river at Millstreet (80km upstream of the Lodge) peaked at 18.00 last night & has dropped considerably.
 
The middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) peaked at 23.00 last night at 3.17m! It is down to 2.58m at 07.15.


The lower river at Ballyduff peaked at 2.29m at 05.00 this morning & is down slightly to 2.22m at 07.15. This is the highest the river has been since mid-January.  Clarity zero this morning.


Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.4ºC / 47.2ºF @ 09.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 6.5ºC / 43.7ºF @ 09.00.



Prospects.
The river is out of order for all but very high water spinning today. It will be out of order for the fly over the weekend. With the dry weather coming, the river should improve and next week looks very promising indeed!
