The water is higher today as is the optimism for the coming week…………………………

The river below the Lodge today at 09.50.

Conditions.

Some light snow here early this morning, but at 10.30 it's a
beautiful sunny day. Air temperature down to 0ºC at 08.00.
Continuing cold & showery (some heavy) for Monday & Tuesday,
then becoming milder & drier for Wednesday through Friday.

Graph for the upper river at 08.00am this morning.
The 37cm rise which peaked at 16.30 yesterday is falling away steadily.

Graph of the lower river at 08.00 this morning – gauge at 1.22m.
It peaked at 1.26m at 06.00 this morning & is now falling.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 8.0ºC / 46.4ºF @ 08.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 5.4ºC / 41.7ºF @ 08.00.

Prospects.
Looking excellent for the coming week as there were two fish caught yesterday.
The river is too high for fly today (Monday).
It is in moderate spinning order. Clarity this morning at 10.00 is 1 - 1½ feet at Ballyduff bridge. By 11.30 it's improved to 1
½-2 feet at Kilmurry.
It will depend on the latest rise coming down and any more rain as to
whether it will be in fly order later in the week.
