Joint Biggest Fish of the Season caught again yesterday……..

Conditions.
It’s a glorious sunny day here – breezy & 18ºC. A low pressure system will approach Ireland from the southeast tomorrow evening bring some rain for tomorrow night & Friday morning.

The upper river at Millstreet & Killavullen is almost steady. It is at 1.26m at 13300 at Killavullen. Clarity on the upper river is 6-7 feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff is falling very slowly. It is at 0.35m at 13.30. Clarity is about 6-7 feet.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.4ºC / 50.7ºF.

Catches.
The Biggest Fish of the Season was caught on the 8th. by Dan O’Keefe (Cork) on prawn on the Lug Pool on Lower Kilmurry. It weighed 14.0lb.

A fish of exactly the same weight was caught yesterday (9th.) from the same pool on spinner by Cyril Killeen (Limerick). It would have been released, but it was hooked much too deeply.
Both fish had been in the river for a few days, so they are either moving much more slowly or there is a head of resident fish starting to build up in the lower river.

We now have 21 fish caught so far for June for 62 rod days including joint Best Fish & Best Day.

Prospects.
Both the upper & lower river continue to be in cracking fly order.
Fishing is challenging due to the very bright conditions, but this is due to change tomorrow evening.

Availability
No problem for rods & accommodation at the moment.
