Yesterday’s 1 metre flood on the upper river is falling rapidly…

              The river at 15.50 today at 1.10m & 1 1/2 foot clarity.

Conditions.
It was a dry day today. The  forecast is dry for tomorrow then showers on Thursday & Friday. High pressure will be building with dry weather from the weekend well into next week.

The upper river at Millstreet has already fallen 75cm from it’s peak last night.
At Banteer it is already spinnable late this evening & at least one fish was caught there

The upper river at Killavullen peaked at 2.26m at 07.15 today. It has already fallen to 1.69m by 20.00. Clarity at Mallow is about a foot at 20.00 this evening.

The lower river at Ballyduff peaked at 1.13m at 15.00 today. It is already back down to 0.93m at 20.00. Clarity remained at ~1½ feet all day.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.3ºC / 51.0ºF & steady.

Prospects.
The upper river will barely be coming into fly order tomorrow but will be spinnable. The lower river will be too high for fly, but will be very fishable with spinner if the clarity holds. Once it fines down the fishing should be superb based on yesterday’s results.

Catches.
No fish caught today for the simple reason there was no-one out on the river. A shame as the lower river was well spinnable today.
