The river is coming down after the last small flood.

Report from yesterday evening 31st.

Conditions.
A mixed day today of sunshine & wintry showers – even hail! Air temperatures went as low as 9ºC this morning! The  forecast is still for heavy rain tomorrow. Temperatures – which have been unseasonally low in recent day – are due to get warmer from mid-week.

The upper river at Millstreet is falling steadily all day as is Killavullen where the gauge is at 1.38m at 19.00 today having risen 1cm late afternoon.

The lower river at Ballyduff rose & peaked at 0.50m at 08.00 then fell to 0.46m at 16.00 & has risen again this evening to 0.47m at 20.30 with good clarity.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.3ºC / 51.0ºF & steady.

Prospects.
The river should be in excellent condition in the morning. We will have to see how much rain falls tomorrow & its effect on the river.

Catches.

A 9lb. bar of silver for Etienne Hubert on fly from Lower Kilmurry & cracking fresh fish of 14/15lb. lost by guide Kieran Conlon in the same pool in the evening.
