Thursday 4 June 2015

The river is clearing nicely. Two fish to 10lb. caught. Well fly-fishable throughout tomorrow.

Conditions.

It was a dry day here. The forecast is maybe for just a few showers tomorrow. High pressure will be building with dry weather from the weekend well into next week.

The upper river at Millstreet & Killavullen has dropped quickly. It has already fallen to 1.38m by 19.30 at Killavullen. Clarity on the upper river has improved during the day to 3 feet by evening.

The lower river at Ballyduff is already back down to 0.46m at 19.00. Clarity was about 2½ feet by evening.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.5ºC / 51.4ºF.

Catches.

Two very fresh fish caught – a 7lb. on spinner & a 11lb. on fly - both on the upper river.

Prospects.

Both the upper & lower river will be in good fly order tomorrow both in terms of height & clarity. As it fines down the fishing should be good.
