Superb Prospects for the weekend.

The river is falling steadily & fining down from the top ………

Conditions.
A dry bright morning here with no rain yesterday or overnight. The forecast is for dry weather from now on into the middle of next week with high pressure building over Ireland this coming weekend. Winds have slackened considerably.

The upper river at Millstreet is falling steadily.

The upper river at Killavullen is falling quite quickly & it is down to 1.51m at 09.30 this morning. Clarity at Mallow this morning is 2½ feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff is falling steadily & it’s down to 0.60m at 09.30 this morning. Clarity this morning is 1½ feet with a nice peat stain.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.1ºC / 50.6ºF & steady.

Prospects.
The river is fining off quickly. Conditions are better on the upper river today which has better clarity. The river is at fly-fishable height throughout. Conditions for the weekend & into next week will be absolutely ideal.
The high (3.9m) tides for the last three days should have encouraged fish to run in.

Catches.

One 10lb. fish on spinner reported on the 19th. from the upper river.
Only one rod out yesterday fishing a coloured river. No fish caught.
