A sea-liced 9 pounder yesterday in very coloured water…….

I went out for an hour yesterday afternoon to a high river with clarity just over a foot. Released a sea-liced 9 pounder on spinner on Lower Kilmurry.

Conditions.
No rain overnight. Today is a bright sunny day & the forecast is for another band of rain tomorrow. Rather broken weather for the coming weekend. Air temperature was +6ºC at 08.00.

The upper river at Millstreet is falling steadily.

The upper river at Killavullen peaked at 1.88m at 22.00 last night & is currently dropping. 1.77m at 11.00.  Clarity is barely a foot.

The lower river at Ballyduff peaked at 04.00 at 1.09m & is down to 0.97m at 11.00. Clarity is ~1 -1½ feet.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 9.7ºC / 49.8ºF @ 19.00 today.

Prospects.
The river is just about spinnable today. Doubtful if it’ll be flyfishable tomorrow, & it remains to be seen what tomorrow’s rain will bring!
