Conditions.
More
rain came through yesterday. I had 3mm on my gauge here at the Lodge. The
forecast continues to be for broken weather for today (11th) &
tomorrow, dry for Wednesday & heavier rain again for Thursday. Broken for
Friday & Saturday then high pressure looks to be building once more from
Sunday.
The upper river at Millstreet rose again yesterday peaking at midnight – up another 50cm. It’s already back down 20cm by 05.30 this morning.
The upper river at Killavullen rising and is up over 40cm to 2.11m at 05.30.
Clarity at Mallow is barely a foot at 07.00 this morning.
The lower river at Ballyduff is just starting to rise & is up 4cm at 05.30.
Clarity is ~2 feet at 06.30 today 11th.
Water
temperature at Ballyduff: 9.9ºC / 50.2ºF @ 07.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 10.9 – 10.6 ºC / 51.6 – 51.1ºF
Water temperature at Killavullen: 10.9 – 10.6 ºC / 51.6 – 51.1ºF
Prospects.
Five
very fresh fish to double figures were met by 3 rods on one beat at Banteer
yesterday, but otherwise it was quiet. Fresh fish are obviously moving through
to the upper river on the high water.
The upper river is out of order this morning but the lower river is at a good spinning height with moderate clarity.
