The river continues to fine off to good fly order………

Dave McDowell (N. Ireland) caught this sea-liced 5 pounder on fly
from our very top beat just below Mallow.

Conditions.
An overcast morning here with no rain yesterday or overnight here. There must have been a small amount of rain in the upper catchment.  The forecast is for dry weather from now on into the middle of next week with high pressure building over Ireland this coming weekend. Winds have slackened considerably & temperatures have risen. It was 16ºC at 20.00 last night!

The upper river at Millstreet has surprisingly risen 2cm since 03.00 this morning after falling steadily throughout yesterday. There didn’t appear to have been any rain in the upper catchment!

The upper river at Killavullen is now falling more slowly & it is down to 1.45m at 09.00 this morning. Clarity on the upper river is now a good 3 feet.

The lower river at Ballyduff is falling steadily & it’s down to 0.53m at 09.00 this morning. Clarity this evening is 1½ - 2 feet with a nice peat stain.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 10.0ºC / 50.4ºF & steady.

Prospects.
The river is fining off quickly. The river is at fly-fishable height & clarity throughout. Conditions for the weekend & into next week will be absolutely ideal.
