A small flood is coming on the river today…..

River picture was at 11.30 with river at 0.66 & rising.

Conditions.
Quite heavy rain last night from 01.00 to 07.00 this morning here but with less in the upper catchment. Now it’s a beautiful sunny day. The forecast is mainly dry until the middle of next week with possibly just some light rain for Sunday night.

The upper river at Millstreet is rising slowly & is up 16cm since yesterday.

The upper river at Killavullen is also rising slowly – up 5cm to 1.59m at 11.00 today 14th.  Clarity at Mallow is ~ 3 feet this morning.

The lower river at Ballyduff has risen 9cm today & is peaking at 14.00. Clarity is 1-1½ feet at 14.00 today 14th.

Water temperature at Ballyduff: 9.9ºC / 50.2ºF @ 07.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 10.9 – 10.6 ºC / 51.6 – 51.1ºF.

Water temperature at Killavullen: 10.5 – 11.3 ºC / 50.9 – 52.3ºF.

Catches.
A number of fish were met yesterday including a very fresh fish of about 15lb lost at the top of the fishery & another about 10lb at Ballyhooly. A few fish seen moving as well, so it has livened up a bit.

Prospects.
The upper river is in reasonable fly order today. The lower river is getting rather coloured – OK for spinning but not really fly-fishable.
The river should be in moderate fly order & good spinning order for tomorrow.
