Four foot flood on the lower river yesterday should ensure good sport in the next week.

The river below the Lodge at 07.20 with gauge on 0.97m.

Conditions.
It was dry overnight. This morning it’s bright & sunny & air temperature is +5ºC at 07.30. The weather will continue to be broken for all of the next week with depressions coming in from the Southwest.

The upper river at Millstreet continues to drop steadily.

The upper river at Killavullen peaked around mid-day yesterday at 2.65m.
By 07.30 this morning it’s down to 1.72m. Waiting for a report on clarity upriver.

The lower river at Ballyduff peaked at 1.64m at 18.00 last night. By 07.20 this morning it is down to 0.97m. Clarity is barely a foot, but that sedimenty look that should drop out fairly fast.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 9.8ºC / 50.0ºF @ 06.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen:   10.5 – 10.1ºC / 50.9 – 50.2ºF.

Prospects.
Looking extremely promising for the coming week with the river well up & sea-liced May fish about! This - combined with tides peaking at 3.8m at Youghal from today to Thursday should help to bring in fresh fish.
The river is out of fly order today, & is barely spinnable on the lower river with the clarity just about a foot (in the early morning light).

Catches.
No more fish for us since the sea-liced 10 pounder on Saturday, as the river has been in flood & out of order.
