Catches.
Paul Sands (UK) released two very fresh fish on fly on Lower Kilmurry yesterday including the Best of Season so far at 11½lb. He saw a good number of fish moving during the day.
It’s a bright breezy morning here. There was a band of quite heavy rain across the catchment in the early hours. The radar picture shows the situation at 04.00. The forecast is for unsettled weather into the weekend.
The upper river at Millstreet is starting to rise fairly quickly this morning. Killavullen is just starting to rise slowly & the gauge there is at 1.35m at 10.00.
The lower river at Ballyduff is rising slowly & is at 0.43m at 10.00. Clarity this morning is about 3 feet.
Water
temperature at Ballyduff: 10.2ºC / 50.8ºF & steady.
Prospects.
Prospects.
The
river is going to be rising today – it remains to be seen by how much. This
rise – combined with a better run of fish coming into the river yesterday –
bodes well for sport in the coming days.
