A 3 foot flood just peaking on the lower river ………………
Conditions.
It was a mild mixed day with the air temperature up to 7°C yesterday.
I had another 7mm rain on my gauge for yesterday.
It was extremely windy in the afternoon.
This morning at 06.30 it’s trying to snow!
The weather will continue cool & broken for the coming week
except for a mild day on Thursday.
The band of heavy rain produced a sharp rise of 3 feet on the upper river
which peaked at 21.00 last night.
The lower river has been rising steadily for the last couple of days,
& is at 1.46m at 06.30 this morning.
The clarity fell from 3+ feet to less than a foot early yesterday afternoon.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 7.9ºC / 46.2ºF @ 07.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 6.00ºC / 42.8ºF @ 06.00.
Prospects.
The river is too high for the fly today.
High water spinnability will depend on clarity.
