The river level is falling about 2cm per day ...
Conditions
It’s a mild overcast morning here today with air temperature +5°C at 08.00
rising to 7°C at 12.00 and there is little wind.
The forecast is to continue dry & cool through the weekend though probably temperatures not getting down to zero at night & up to 6-8 ºC during the day. A depression and band of rain is due early Friday morning & some more light rain on Monday. High pressure will build again over Ireland from Monday night.
The lower river is holding more or less steady. It is down to 0.51m at 12.00 today 12th.
Excellent clarity on both the lower & upper river at about 5+ feet.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 7.9ºC / 46.2ºF @ 08.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 6.19ºC / 43ºF @ 08.00.
Prospects
Continuing good right through until the end of the week as the river is down into cracking fly order. With springers being caught on the lower river (I heard of one caught just above Ballyduff yesterday), prospects of a fish are good, especially if day-time air temperatures rise a bit.
