The river below the Lodge at 14.00 on Wednesday 18th.
Conditions.
It was a mild overcast afternoon with the air temperature up to 10°C even at 18.00. There may be moderate rain overnight with a band of heavier rain coming in early Friday morning. Tomorrow will continue mild due to prevailing south-westerly winds, with cooler weather again from Friday through until early next week.
Spring Tides
Spring tides will peak at 4.2m at Youghal on Friday & Saturday this coming weekend which should encourage fresh fish to move into the main river.
The upper river is holding steady since 14.00 today which will ensure
that the lower river continues to fine off.
The lower river is falling slowly but steadily. It is at 0.54m at 23.30.
The clarity on the lower river this afternoon was 3+ feet at Ballyduff.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 8.3ºC / 46.9ºF @ 23.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 7.3ºC / 45.1ºF @ 23.00.
Prospects.
The river will be in excellent fly and spinning order tomorrow.
It remains to be seen how Friday’s rain might affect it.
