Dry forecast to next weekend & river perfect................................ !
Conditions
It was a frosty morning here today with air temperature 0°C at 07.30 and little wind.
It remained foggy all day.
High pressure continues to dominate our weather right up until the end of next week and there is no rain forecast. Temperatures will stay cool, but barely down to freezing at night right up to the end of the coming week.
The lower river continues to fall slowly but steadily.
It is down to 0.56m at 20.00 today 8th.
Excellent clarity on both the lower & upper river at about 5+ feet.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 7.9ºC / 46.2ºF @ 18.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 5.5ºC / 41.9ºF @ 18.00.
Prospects
Absolutely excellent right through until the end of next week
as the river is coming down into cracking fly order.
With springers being caught on the lower river, prospects of sport are very good indeed, especially if day-time air temperatures rise a bit.
A few fish were starting to show yesterday & today, especially at
the Hut Pool on Upper Kilmurry. The best was a cracker of ~14/15lb
which came clean out of the water about 5 metres in front of one angler yesterday as it motored through.
