The river has peaked and is falling again! ………………
Conditions.
A band of heavy rain was just coming into the north of the upper catchment in the early hours of this morning. I only had 1mm rain on my gauge overnight.
This was the upper river at 07.00am this morning.
It had peaked at 14.30 yesterday, then fell until 22.00
& then rose slightly & is now more or less holding.
This was the lower river at 06.45am this morning – gauge at 1.65m.
It peaked at 01.00 this morning at 1.82m.
The clarity was about one foot late yesterday afternoon & very peaty.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 7.7ºC / 45.9ºF @ 07.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 8.1ºC / 46.6ºF @ 07.00.
Prospects.
The river will be completely out of order for fly today (Thursday).
Any chance for high water spinning will depend on clarity.
It is unlikely to be in any sort of fly order for the next couple of days.
