Dry forecast to the end of the week & river perfect...
Conditions
It’s a frosty morning here today with air temperature -3°C at 08.30 and little wind. Interestingly, a guest arrived this morning from Limerick (close to the headwaters of the river) where the air temperature at 08.00 this morning was +6°C
High pressure continues to dominate our weather right up until the end of next week and there is no rain forecast. Temperatures will stay cold early in the week, but getting milder towards the end of the week.
The lower river continues to fall slowly but steadily.
It is down to 0.55m at 20.00 today 8th.
Excellent clarity on both the lower & upper river at about 5+ feet.
Water temperature at Ballyduff: 7.8ºC / 46.0ºF @ 09.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen: 5.5ºC / 41.9ºF @ 09.00.
Prospects
Continuing excellent right through until the end of the week as the river is down into cracking fly order. With springers being caught on the lower river, prospects of sport are very good indeed, especially if day-time air temperatures rise a bit. The biggest problem is lack of rods fishing the river.
