10mm rain overnight & the river is rising yet again!

The river below the Lodge at 08.30 today. Gauge height 1.22m

Conditions
.

It’s a wild mild wet day here again today.
Air temperature +10ºC at 08.30. One band of rain has already passed through & I had 8mm rain on my gauge at 07.00 this morning.

The radar picture at 07.30 shows another band of heavy rain
coming in from the west & just hitting the top of the catchment.
The forecast is for this latest rain to clear and high pressure is then building over Ireland.
It should be dry from this evening right through until the end of next week.

The upper river at Millstreet (80km upstream of the Lodge) is rising rapidly since 04.30 this morning & is up over 40cm by 10.00.

The middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) is starting to rise since 07.00.

The lower river at Ballyduff is just starting to rise since 09.00 when it was 1.22m.  Clarity is a foot at best this morning.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.4ºC / 47.2ºF @ 10.00.

Water temperature at Killavullen: 7.8ºC / 46.0ºF @ 10.00.

Prospects.
Not a morning to be out on the river again today –wet & quite windy.
Once again  my evening report will tell much more on the effect the rain this morning has had. It looks as if the river will be high & rather dirty for tomorrow!
It should start to improve after that with dry cooler weather.
