Another 60cm rise on the upper river today!

Conditions.
There was a narrow band of light rain (0.5mm) passed over the catchment during the night. It was a very windy dry day here. Another (perhaps rather heavier) band is due tomorrow, & then there is high pressure building towards the second half of next week with calm conditions & little wind.
Air temperature was +10 ºC at 15.00.

The upper river at Millstreet peaked at 16.30 – up 50cm.

The level of the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) rose 65cm peaking at 2.10m at 21.00 & is just starting to drop.

The lower river at Ballyduff is up 8cm to 0.68m at 22.00 & still rising.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.7ºC / 47.8ºF @ 22.00 today.
Water temperature at Killavullen:  9.9 – 9.3ºC / 49.8 – 48.7F @ 22.00.
Water temperature at Killavullen:  7.5 – 7.1ºC / 45.5 – 44.8ºF @ 08.00.

Prospects.
Both the upper & lower river were fly-fishable for most of today though it was very windy. It should be good for spinning throughout as the clarity is quite good.

Catches.
A good fish of 12-15lb. was lost on the Green Bank on Upper Kilmurry this afternoon by one of the very few rods who ventured out.
