Fishing is still slow, but the river is in fantastic order!




Conditions.

It’s bright sunny day here today  
Air temperature  only 0ºC at 07.30.  A cold NW wind.
The forecast shows some rain for Wednesday evening & a bit more on Friday & Saturday.
Higher pressure building over Ireland for early next week with milder SW winds.

The level of the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge)
has only fallen 2cm in the last 24 hours and is at a superb height.
It is down to 1.40m at 10.15 today.  Clarity is about 6+ feet.


The lower river at Ballyduff is also falling slowly (3cm in the last 24 hours)
& is down to 0.55m at 10.45 today. Clarity is 6+ feet.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.4ºC / 47.2ºF @ 10.15 today.

Water temperature at Killavullen:  8.9 – 8.1ºC / 48 -46.6ºF @ 10.15.


Prospects.
The river was in absolutely excellent order for both fly & spinning throughout today.
The forecast is now showing a band of rain coming in Wednesday evening.
At the moment, the river continues to improve steadily, is fining down to superb order, especially for the fly. There are not many fish moving at the moment.
