Yesterday’s rain rose the river & made it quite coloured.……………………

Conditions.
It’s a cold (0ºC) bright morning here today with no wind. The forecast is for some more rain Wednesday & Thursday evenings. High pressure then builds over Ireland & it should be dry from Friday right through the weekend.

The upper river at Millstreet (80km upstream of the Lodge) rose in a dirty yellow flood which peaked at 13.00 yesterday afternoon. It has fallen rapidly since.

The middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) also rose 45cm
in a flood which peaked at 21.00 last night & has also fallen rapidly since.

The lower river rose from 0.88m peaking at 1.17m at 03.00 this morning.
It is falling steadily. It is at 1.05m at 08.00.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.3ºC / 47.0ºF @ 08.00.

Water temperature at Killavullen: 7.1ºC / 44.8ºF @ 08.00 & falling.

Prospects.
The river is barely in spinnable order today with the clarity only 1-1½ feet,
but that sedimenty colour that may clear quite quickly during the day.
