River still falling slowly but with excellent clarity.…………………………

The Cork Blackwater river below Blackwater Lodge at 10.00 March 6th.
A very windy day. Gauge height now 0.97m

Conditions
.
A brighter rather cloudy & very mild day today. No rain anywhere in the catchment.
Air temperature +9 ºC at 08.00. Forecast still has some bands of rain coming in from the southwest on Sunday, Monday & Thursday.

This was the upper river at Millstreet at 08.00 this morning.
It continues to fall slowly. Clarity about 4 feet.

This was the lower river at 08.00 this morning – gauge at 0.98 & falling slowly & steadily. Clarity about 4 feet.

Water temperature at    Ballyduff: 8.1ºC / 46.6ºF @ 08.00.

Water temperature at Killavullen: 7.0ºC / 44.4ºF @ 08.00.

Prospects.
The river is in good spinnable order today throughout today& should continue to improve. Certainly not in fly order yet as the height at Killavullen is 1.80m at 08.00. It’s likely that the upper river will be down to some sort of fly order for the weekend, but too soon to say yet if it will be fly-fishable on the lower river.
A fresh springer was lost at Ballyhooly Bridge on spinner after being played for a few minutes yesterday afternoon.
