Conditions.
It was a rather windy but
mostly dry day here. The forecast band of rain fell mostly in the upper
catchment this afternoon – only 1mm fell here. The forecast remains rather broken
up to Thursday, & then there is high pressure building from Friday right up
to the middle of next week with calm conditions & little wind.
Air temperature was +10 ºC at 15.00.
The upper river at Millstreet is now rising once again this evening – up 16cm at 21.00.

The level of the middle river at Killavullen (37km upstream of the Lodge) was falling steadily. It is down to 1.60m at 20.00 but looks to be leveling out. Clarity was only about 1 foot this afternoon.
The lower river at Ballyduff is falling steadily – down to 0.76m by 21.00. Clarity was only about 1 foot this afternoon.

Prospects.
Both the upper & lower river
were out of order by early afternoon due to poor clarity. We will see in the
morning what the effect of the latest rise upriver will be. At least when we
get moderate rises, the clarity improves very quickly.
